What is Neuroscience Discovery Day?

On December 14, 2013 Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience opens its doors to the community for "Neuroscience Discovery Day". The all day-celebration marks the one-year anniversary of the grand opening of our new facility in Jupiter, the first research institute outside of Europe for the Max Planck Society, Germany's best-known and most successful research organization.

Neuroscience Discovery Day is an educational community outreach event providing an opportunity for everyone to get an 'inside' look into how our brains functions through fascinating and fun activities.

The free event will feature tours of the 100,000 sqf research facility, panel discussions with Max Planck scientists, brain magic and a gourmet food and beverage truck expo. Inside the main event tent, children and adults alike will enjoy interactive neuroscience activities, such as "Map your homunculus", "Do-it-yourself DNA" and "Build your own neuron".
