Event Information

Many organisms possess an internal biological clock to regulate physiology and behavior throughout the course of a day – a process termed the circadian rhythm. In humans, this natural 24-hour oscillation is generated by a brain region called the suprachiasmatic nucleus, which gathers information from external cues in the environment. In this talk, I will highlight key research findings on the molecular underpinnings that generate the circadian rhythm, how these processes normally function in the brain, and how they are modified by experience and disease.

Event free to the public.
