Thinking Like a Scientist
Meet the Scientist Lecture Series
Rebekah Corlew, Ph.D., Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience
STEM is not just a collection of subjects in school. “Thinking like a scientist” means believing that there are answers to your questions and that you are capable of pursuing those answers. Using neuroscience, Dr. Corlew will discuss why an understanding of STEM is increasingly important and empowering, and more accessible than ever before. She’ll use your own brain to show you why science needs your participation.
In addition to her research, Dr. Corlew has always been passionate about increasing the public’s understanding of neuroscience and mentoring future scientists. Dr. Corlew holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked as a research scientist for over six years at Duke and Max Planck Florida, investigating how the brain forms connections during very early development.
Dr. Corlew’s presentation is followed by an open Q&A session, providing everyone with a unique opportunity to meet Dr. Corlew in person.
