2014-15 MPFI Seminar Series 

I will discuss studies in which we expressed the genetically encoded calcium indicator GCaMP6s in the dorsal cortex of the inferior colliculus (DCIC) and repeatedly imaged sound responses of individual cells through a cranial window in awake mice. Two-photon imaging allowed us to measure frequency response areas of neurons in the DCIC, study their spatial organization, and test to what extent these sound responses are modulated by behavior.

This seminar is open to faculty, scientists, and students from Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and the Scripps Research Institute Florida, located on FAU’s John D.
