The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter, Florida is in the process of identifying a Scientific Director to establish a laboratory with a focus on neural circuit research.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Max Planck Florida Institute is focused on novel approaches to understanding the structure, function, and development of neural circuits in the vertebrate brain. We invite applications from highly creative investigators with an exceptional record of scientific accomplishment in a broad range of disciplines relevant to the analysis of circuits that mediate sensory, motor, cognitive, or affective processes. We are especially interested in investigators with expertise in in vivo approaches and whose research program includes development of technologies that break new ground in the interrogation of neural circuits.
The position provides generous startup resources, guaranteed annual operating budgets, and access to state of the art core facilities for light microscopy, electron microscopy, molecular biology, information technology, mechanical design, and animal care.

Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience is located next to the MacArthur Campus of the Florida Atlantic University and the Florida campus of the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter Florida.
Education and/or Experience
In addition to a PhD, candidates should have achieved distinction in their field, have an innovative research program, and have proven scientific excellence.
